On 21 June 2022, Mr. Wattanawit Gajaseni, Deputy Director – General, acting Director – General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) met with Mr. Hyuk-San SOHN, President of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) to discuss development cooperation between Thailand and the Republic of Korea (RoK). Mr. Cheevinhn Nathalang, Deputy Director-General of TICA, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Director of Development Promotion and Coordination Division as well as relevant representatives from KOICA, Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Thailand and TICA were also present at the meeting.

Both sides reviewed the 3rd Action Plan between KOICA and TICA on Joint Cooperation (2020-2022) and were satisfied with the outcome. They also exchanged views and experiences on international development cooperation and explored the possibility to forge closer partnership for development to help support sustainable development of countries in Mekong Sub-region. They agreed to work closely on drafting the 4th Action Plan (2023-2025) which will encompass development cooperation activities in the areas of mutual interests at the bilateral level as well as at trilateral level in the fields where both countries have expertise and serve the interests of the recipient countries.
