On 25 May 2023, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), delivered an online closing remark at the closing ceremony of the international virtual training course entitled “Adapting to Climate Change: Facing the Consequence.”, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sura Pattanakiat, Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University.

In her remarks, she emphasized global partnerships in achieving the SDGs by the year 2030 and collective efforts in tackling the global agenda like climate change. She also highlighted TICA’s role in fostering technical cooperation and capacity building to assist other developing countries to effectively address these challenges.

The aforementioned international training course is a collaboration between TICA and Mahidol University, which received funding from the Perez-Guerrero Trust Fund for South-South Cooperation (PGTF) in the year 2020. The main objective of the training course is to develop knowledge and exchange experiences on climate change in the context of participating country, in order to promote environmental quality and enhance preparedness for sustainable climate change adaptation. The training was conducted online from 9 - 25 May 2023, with 37 participants from various countries including Angola, India, Myanmar, Nigeria, and Zambia.
