On 7th January 2022, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), together with Mr. Cheevindh Nathalang, Deputy Director-General welcomed Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Vice President for International Relations and Corporate Communication and team at the meeting room 2, Thailand International Cooperation Agency.

Both sides discussed the progress of MFA – MU Capacity Building for Medical and Health Science Education Hub project. The project aims to develop the capacity building for Thai medical and healthcare personnel including exchange and transferring expertise to other developing countries in sub-region and region. There are 6 sub-projects including 1) Advanced corneal transplantation project 2) Pediatric Glaucoma course and live surgery project 3) Academic Conference & Hand-on Workshop on Rehabilitation Medicine for Physicians and Allied Health Professionals in Thailand and South-East Asia Region 4) Basic to advanced kidney transplantation 5) Pancreatic transplantation 6) From single cell to big data: implementation of genomic data in infectious disease studies, some of which will be commenced online early this year.

On this occasion, Prof. Nopraenue also presented the new projects to TICA’s DG for the possible future collaboration which are aligned with TICA’s policy on development cooperation in Health security, Food secutiy and Job security to help enhance Thailand’s role in internaitonal development cooperation as a driving force for the attainment of Sustainable Development Goals.
