On 23 May 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) welcomed H.E. Mr. Tshewang Chophel Dorji, Acting Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Skills Development of Bhutan (MoESD), at TICA office. Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of TICA, Ms. Chidchanok Malayawong, Director of Development Promotion and Coordination Division, as well as officers from TICA and MoESD were also present at the meeting.

The Acting Secretary of MoESD visited TICA office to discuss the collaboration on the development of Rural Development Training Centre (RDTC), which is an organization recently transferred from the Ministry Agriculture and Forests of Bhutan to MoESD. The DG of TICA and the Acting Secretary of MoESD agreed to collaborate on the capacity building of the RDTC, and the development of training courses that focus on packaging and processing of food and agricultural products. In addition, TICA also noted and will inform relevant Thai agencies of MoESD’s wish to recruit Thai experts to manage the RDTC. Cooperation between the Ability Bhutan Society (ABS) and the Asia-Pacific Development Center on Disability (APCD) to provide vocational training for the disability in Bhutan was also raised in the meeting.
