On 15 June 2015, Mr. Rolf Peter Gottfried Schulze, Ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany to Thailand, paid a farewell courtesy call on General Tanasak Patimapragorn, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. General Tanasak Patimapragorn and Ms. Suchada Thaibunthao, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) attended a farewell luncheon for the Ambassador. On this occasion, General Tanasak Patimapragorn expressed his sincere gratitude to the Ambassador for the invaluable contribution in fostering closer relations between Thailand and Germany.
In their exchange of views, both sides were satisfied with the progress of bilateral cooperation, in particular in the fields of dual vocational education and renewable energy. Mr. Schulze reaffirmed the German private sectors’ interests in trade and investment in Thailand. He also saw the importance of Thailand’s Infrastructure Development Plan 2015 – 2022 as the main instrument to stimulate economic performance and enhance the country’s competitiveness. In this regard, General Tanasak expressed Thailand’s keen commitment to implement “Thailand-Plus-One” Business Model to make Thailand the regional investment hub.
Both sides also shared their firm commitment to enhance cordial relations at the Governmental level and people-to-people contacts as well as the readiness to work closely together to further strengthen Thai – German cooperation in all fields.
