During 23 – 24 January 2016, Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephithak, Director - General of TICA, attended The 9th Meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic, Commercial, Industrial, Technical, Agricultural and Scientific Cooperation between Thailand and Iran in Tehran, the Islamic Republic of Iran, co – chaired by H.E. Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Mohammed Reza Nematzadeh, Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade of Iran.
The Thailand – Iran JC Meeting is a mechanism for consultation and coordination between the two countries on diverse areas of cooperation. The 9th JC Meeting will focus on the promotion of bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, business, investment, finance, technical cooperation, agriculture, science, energy, and tourism between the two countries. Both sides will also review the progress made in their cooperation as well as identify new areas for possible joint effort, with a view to expanding future economic cooperation. Along with Thai delegation and representatives official related from Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Ministry of Industry, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Transport and PTT Public Company Limited.
In the meeting, the Senior Officials Meeting of the Joint Commission have jointly prepared the results of the Agreed Minutes to the Joint Ministerial Commission meeting to be signed on 2 February 2016, during the visit to Iran of Mr. Somkid Jatusripitak, Deputy Prime Minister on 1-3 February 2016. In this regard, TICA also added the development cooperation issues between Thailand and Iran in the framework of bilateral cooperation, trilateral and regional cooperation in the above – mentioned Agreed Minutes.
