17-18 April 2018, Mrs. Suphatra Srimaitreephithak, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) attended the International Meeting on Triangular Cooperation entitled “Making best use of the value added of triangular cooperation” held in Lisbon invited by Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua (Camoes) and Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) . There were participants from 43 countries, 14 international organizations, 7 private sector foundations and civil societies.
On this occasion, Director-General of TICA had a discussion with Mr. Jorge Moreira da Silva, Director Development Co-operation Directorate (OECD). She has expressed her interest on Data Collection and Management System in the field of development which will strengthen data collection of development cooperation in Thailand. OECD expressed its interest in collaborating with TICA in this matter and will consider sending experts to share knowledge and best practice to Thailand in the near future.
Moreover, Director-General of TICA had a discussion with Mr. Gonçalo Teles Gomes, Vice-President of Camoes on TICA’s vision of becoming the hub of development cooperation in the region by sharing knowledge and expertise in key areas namely agriculture and food processing, tourism, vocational education and alternative Medicine and pharmaceuticals to other developing countries as partners to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Camoes acknowledged and welcomed the cooperation with TICA in community-based development projects on the application of Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP) particularly in countries that use Portuguese as their primary language such as Guinea-Bissau.
