On 26 August 2024, Mr. Wattanawit Gajaseni, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), welcomed Mr. Hans-Ulrich Südbeck, Chargé d’ Affaires of German Embassy in Bangkok, and Mr. Timo Menniken, Thailand Country Director of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, along with their officials on the occasion of courtesy visit to introduce the Thailand Country Director of GIZ upon his assumption of office. Miss Chidchanok Malayawong, Director of Development Promotion and Coordination Division, Mr. Mongkol Siwaluk, First Secretary, and TICA staff were also present at the meeting, at TICA.

During the visit, both sides expressed great satisfaction with the current state of development cooperation between Thailand and Germany. They also agreed to further strengthen development and technical cooperation between TICA and the GIZ at both bilateral and trilateral levels in potential areas such as climate change, green economy, and agriculture, with an aim to enhancing social and economic well-being of peoples in Thailand and neighbouring countries. Additionally, both sides discussed the possibility of forming an agreement to establish GIZ office in Thailand to support the expansion of GIZ’s development engagement in Thailand and the region.
