On 7 August 2026, Mrs. Chachsaran Lertkiattiwong, Director of International Development Cooperation Division, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), attended the closing ceremony of the Intensive Short-term Thai Language Training Course for Vietnamese students from 4 universities of Vietnam, including University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University in Ho Chi Minh, University of Foreign Language Studies, University of Danang, University of Languages and International Studies, Vietnam National University in Hanoi, and the University of Hanoi. On this occasion, she delivered a congratulatory speech and presented certificates to all 50 participants who completed the programme. The programme was organised as part of the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Vietnam. (In previous years, TICA had supported the participation of 20 students per year) The event was attended by Asst. Prof. Dr.Prapaporn Rojsiriruch, Vice President for International Relations and Communications, Dr. Narinthorn Sombatnan Behr, Associate Dean for Administration and Academic Services, Dr. Prattana Kongsamran, Director of Center for Academic Services, Srinakharinwirot University, and Ms. Hoang Diem Hanh, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim of the Embassy of VietNam in Thailand, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supak Mahavarakorn, Program Chair, faculty members, staff of the Faculty of Humanities, as well as officials from TICA.

The programme was organised by the Faculty of Humanities, Srinakharinwirot University, from 12 July to 9 August 2026, with the objective of enhancing students’ knowledge and practical experiences in the use of Thai language, providing them with a strong foundation for their daily lives and future careers, as well as for working with the business sectors in both Thailand and Vietnam. Moreover, this year also marks as the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Vietnam, demonstrating the longstanding friendship and close ties between the two countries. In this regard, the programme served as a valuable opportunity to further strengthen bilateral relations through the exchange of knowledge and cultural experiences. As part of the programme, students also participated in study visits to various cultural and historical sites, including the Arts of the Kingdom Museum in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, Wat Phra Kaew, and a Khon Performance at the Sala Chalermkrung Royal Theatre in Bangkok.
