 On 17 January 2025, Mrs. Pimwadee Sovaratanapong, Deputy Director-General, Acting Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), discussed with H.E. Ms. Vivianne Fock Tave, Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Seychelles. This meeting was attended by Lt. Sorawud Preededilok, Minister attached to TICA; Mrs. Chachsaran Lertkiattiwong, Director of International Development Cooperation Division of TICA; and other relevant officials from both sides. It took place on the occasion of her visit to Seychelles to hand over the project “Thailand – Seychelles Cooperation in Horticulture”

During the discussion, the Thai side emphasized Thailand's commitment to enhancing cooperation with Seychelles as a development partner. Both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral development cooperation in shared areas of interest, including tourism, human resource development (HRD), and botany. This effort aims to strengthen relations between the two countries through technical cooperation while promoting South-South cooperation, which is a key mechanism for enhancing the capacity of developing countries to achieve sustainable development goals.

Thailand’s development cooperation with Seychelles in various forms through the Thailand International Cooperation Agency, includes:

  1. Thailand – Seychelles Cooperation in Horticulture: A project for exchanging Thai knowledge and best practices in botany to enhance Seychelles' botanical capacity, workforce, and sustainable biodiversity conservation.
  2. Study Visit on Agriculture: Activity organized by TICA for Seychellois personnel to exchange and share agricultural knowledge and expertise.
  3. Webinars: Sessions to exchange experiences and best practices for street food vendors between two countries.
  4. Human Resource Development: Training programs offered through TICA’s Annual International Training Course (AITC).
