On 28th November, Mrs. Arunee Hiam Deputy Director General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), led the delegations from Asia Pacific countries visited Kubota Farm at Chonburi province. This activity is part of the programme of the Fifth Asia-Pacific Directors General (APDG) Forum on South-South and Triangular Cooperation which Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) co-hosted with the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) during 27-28 November 2023.

At the Kubota Farm, delegates were warmly welcomed by Mr. Ratchakrit Sanguancheewin, Business Value Creation Division Manager of SIAM KUBOTA. He also provided backgroud information on this farm and the challenges of Thai agricultural industry.

The aim of field visit is to showcase of knowledge, expertise, and best practices of Thai’s Agricultural technology and innovation so called smart farming in 3 areas namely; (1) Precision Rice Farm and Crop Rotation Zone, demonstrated the innovation of growing rice from planting, taking care and havesting (2) New Theory Agriculture Zone, introduced sufficiency economy philosophy and new agricultural theory as a guiding principles for effectively managing in the limited land and poultry smart farming, and (3) Horticultural Innovation Zone, presented application of machinery and innovation in horticulture farm.

Kubota Fram is the first experiantial modern farm in Southeast Asia. As demonstration farm with 250 rai, it provides the modern agricultural innovations for elevating the traditional farm managemant to be smart and modern farm management. In addition, Kubota farm is a one stop service for people and farmers who are interested in agricultural machineries and innovations before applying in their farm.
