On 24 June 2025, Ms. Pimwadee Sovaratanapong, Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), attended the opening ceremony of the Regional Public Health Laboratory (RPHL) Network Quality Management Systems Workshop 2025 at the Department of Medical Sciences, Ministry of Public Health.

The aforementioned workshop, held from 24–26 June 2025 and organised by the Department of Medical Sciences, aims to review the Quality Management Systems (QMS) assessments among RPHL Network member countries as well as to develop QMS accreditation guidelines and establish a five-year progress monitoring framework for the network. Participants include medical and laboratory personnel from 14 countries, namely the 10 ASEAN member states, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, and Timor-Leste.

For this activity, TICA provided funding support for two medical personnel from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to join the workshop. This support reflects TICA’s continued commitment, marking its second contribution for promoting capacity building for laboratory personnel in Myanmar, which plays a crucial role in advancing cooperation under the Thailand–Myanmar Public Health Development Cooperation Plan and promoting regional health security in line with the shared goals of sustainable development.
