On 4 September 2024, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), witnessed and delivered a Congratulatory Remarks at the PM 2.5 detectors handover ceremony as donated by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Thailand, to be installed at 12 schools in Bangkok as part of the KOICA Blue Sky Project in Bangkok. H.E. Mr. Park Yongmin, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Thailand, Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, Ms. Jun Youngsuk, Country Director of KOICA Thailand Office, Mr. SUZUKI Kazuya, Chief Representative, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Thailand Office, and Ms. Sabrina Ta'ala, Director of Programming and Training, Peace Corps Thailand also attended the ceremony at Na Luang School, Bangkok.
Deputy Director-General of TICA expressed her gratitude for the Korean side’s project recognising the importance of the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies as designated by the United Nations on 7 September. She also addressed the current air pollution challenges in Thailand and the Mekong Sub-region, and praised this initiative as a timely opportunity to raise awareness of the youth on the importance of clean and healthy air, as well as positive efforts to conserve environment for all in the future.
