On 20 March 2025, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director General, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) welcomed H.E. Mr. Patricio Powell, Ambassador of the Republic of Chile to the Kingdom of Thailand, along with Mr. David Hansen, Deputy Head of Mission. The meeting served as an opportunity for the Ambassador to introduce himself and discuss development cooperation between Thailand and Chile. Also, in attendance were Ms. Chidchanok Malayawong, Director of Development Promotion and Coordination Division, and relevant TICA officer.

Both sides agreed to draft a new Thailand - Chile Three-year Development Cooperation Programme, focusing on five key sectors: (1) Agriculture and Food security (2) Finance and anti- Money Laundering (3) Trade and Investment (4) Renewable Energy and (5) Innovation. In this regard, Director-General of TICA expressed a readiness to host the 2nd Technical Cooperation Meeting between Thailand and Chile, which is scheduled to take place tentatively in August 2025 in Thailand, where TICA will organized a study visit to the Workshop on Chilean Quinoa in Thailand for ASEAN Member States project at the Royal Project Foundation, Chiang Mai Province, to showcase a success under the previous Three-year Development Cooperation Programme between the two countries.
