On 18 August 2022, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), held a discussion with H.E. Mr. Moon Seoung-hyun, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Thailand. Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Director of Development Promotion and Coordination Division, and Ms. Sung-eun Kim, Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea, were also present at the meeting.

Both sides discussed possible development cooperation between Thailand and South Korea that can be extended to and benefit the Mekong sub-region as a whole. Such projects may include establishing a vocational training centre in Thailand; human resource development; exchanges of technology and innovations; and promoting environmental awareness.
