On 31 August 2022 at TICA office, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of TICA received a courtesy call from Mr. Juvêncio de Jusus Martins, Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Thailand on the occasion of his assumption of duty.

The Ambassador expressed his gratitude to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn for the royal projects bestowed upon 6 schools in Timor Leste to improve children’s quality of life in terms of physical and mental health as well as the technical assistance from TICA, especially for Human Resource Development extended to Timor Leste.

The Director-General re-affirmed Thailand’s support to Timor Leste’s capacity building, human resources development and the existing project on community development based on the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy (SEP)  which will contribute to strengthening  food security in Timor Leste.

Both sides were pleased with the close relations between the two countries with 2022 marking the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.  In this connection, the Director-General has  pledged  to help improve  capacity  building to Timor  Leste by supporting 20 postgraduate schorlarships between 2023-2027, including vocational trainings and other trainings for immediate needs of Timor Leste.
