On 8 June 2026, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), welcomed H.E. Mrs. Constance Chemwayi, Ambassador of the Republic of Zimbabwe to Thailand (with residence in Kuala Lumpur), during a courtesy call to discuss development cooperation between Thailand and Zimbabwe.

Also present at the meeting were Lt. Col. Sorawut Preedidilok, Ambassador to Helsinki currently on official assignment at TICA, Ms. Chidchanok Malyawong, Director of Development Promotion and Coordination Division, and relevant officials.

Both sides exchanged views on Thailand’s ongoing development cooperation with Zimbabwe including scholarships offered under the Annual International Training Course (AITC) and the Thailand International Postgraduate Programme (TIPP), and an enhancement of development cooperation in the areas of mutual interest, such as agricultural development for smallholder farmers, irrigation systems, agricultural machinery, land reform, and tilapia farming, etc., as well as products that promote mutual business collaboration.  The discussion also aimed to support the Thailand–Africa Development Forum (TADF) framework and to advance Thailand’s Thailand–Africa Initiative (TAI), which seeks to strengthen partnership and sustainable development cooperation between Thailand and African countries.
