On 23 August 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) gave the opening remarks at the Brainstorming Meeting on the Guideline for the Development Cooperation between Thailand and Latin America (2024 - 2026) to be in line with the national development strategy and the BCG Economic Model as well as the Regional Strategy for Latin America. The Meeting took place at Centra by Centara Government Complex Hotel & Convention Centre Chaeng Watthana and was well attended by the representatives from Thai authorities concerned in the sector of (1) Food and Agriculture (2) Medical and Wellness (3) Bioenergy, Biomaterial and Biochemical, and (4) Tourism and Creative Economy. On this occasion, Mrs. Nadariya Nopakun Phromyothi, Director of Latin America Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, debriefed on the outcome of seminar entitled “BCG: Pathways to Enhanced Partnerships between Thailand and Latin America and the Caribbean” which was organised in March 2023.

Thailand attaches great importance to the cooperation with Latin America in order to facilitate the exchange of technology and innovation which will help driving the country towards Thailand 4.0, increasing the role of Thailand in the international arena, as well as exploring Thailand’s new markets in Latin America.

The fruitful outcome of this Meeting will contribute to formulating the Implementation Plan between Thailand and Latin America.
