On 26 December 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) welcomed Mr. Parmer Heacox, Acting Country Director of Peace Corps Thailand, who paid a courtesy call on the occasion of New Year 2024, at TICA.

Both sides also discussed the future direction of cooperation between TICA and Peace Corps Thailand such as arrival of Peace Corps Volunteer Group 135 in January 2024, possible inclusion of the climate change sector, region-based selection of project sites.  Moreover, they also exchanged views and information on the operations of the Friends From Thailand Program and the Peace Corps Volunteer Program and possible cooperation in third countries.

On this occasion, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh presented to Mr. Parmer Heacox a check of the Royal Thai Government’s annual contribution to Peace Corps Thailand. This annual contribution demonstrates Thailand’s firm commitment to the enduring Thai-US partnership in Peace Corps Volunteers Program since 1961.
