On 12 August 2025, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), together with H.E. Krit Tankanarat, Ambassador of Thailand to Argentina, had a meeting with Mr. Miguel Donatelli, National Director of International Negotiations, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Livestock, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The meeting was also attended by Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of TICA, along with representatives from the relevant Argentine agencies, including, National Directorate of International Cooperation (DNCIN), National Institute of Agricultural Technology (INTA), and National Service of Health and Agri-Food Quality (SENASA).
Both sides welcomed the successful implementation of joint projects to improve sugarcane and soybean cultivation under the Three-Year Development Cooperation Programme for 2020 – 2022, and reaffirmed commitment to continue and expand these two projects under the new Programme for 2025 – 2027, which will deliver concrete and mutually-beneficial outcomes for both Argentina and Thailand.
In addition, both sides also discussed the development of a new project on research and development of vaccines for Foot-and-Mouth Disease in livestock. The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Livestock of Argentina responded positively to the proposal and will propose activities under the project for Thailand’s consideration.
Then, the Thai delegation met with Mr. Alberto Fohrig, Director of International Cooperation, Ministry of Security, to discuss the implementation of the project ‘Forensic Anthropology Exhumation and Analysis Skills Development’. Both sides agreed on the importance of this project to improve regional security, and exchanged on potential cooperation for other areas such as training in utilization of digital technologies to track drug trafficking and digital crime.
