On 19 November 2024, Mr. Grisada Phakakarn, Director of Human Resources Development Cooperation Division, as a representative of Thailand International Cooperatoion Agency  (TICA), attended the opening ceremony of the Third Country Training Programme (TCTP) on “Energy Resilience Assessment: Towards Climate Adaptable Energy Systems” at the M120 Conference Room, National Metal and Materials Technology Center (MTEC), Thailand Science Park, Pathum Thani Province.

This course is being held from 18 to 27 November, 2024 under the collaboration between Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), with the National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC) serving as the organizing agency. On this occasion, Director of Human Resources Development Cooperation Division also delivered an opening remarks together with Mr. Suzuki Kazuya, Chief Representative of JICA, Thailand Office, and Dr. Sumittra Charojrochkul, Executive Director of National Energy Technology Center (ENTEC).

The objective of the course is to share knowledge and strategies on improving energy infrastructure to enhance resilience to climate change. The outcomes are expected to benefit both Thailand and Japan, including:

  1. Sharing ideas on energy resilience and energy resilience assessment with ASEAN countries and Timor-Leste, with a focus on CLMV countries (Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Vietnam).
  2. Promoting pilot projects on energy resilience assessment in ASEAN countries, especially CLMV countries, in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
  3. Facilitating the development of a knowledge center on energy resilience assessment for interested ASEAN countries.

This training programme has 14 participants from 8 countries: Cambodia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Timor-Leste, Thailand, and Vietnam who will gain knowledge, experience and partnership among all participants.
