On 26 July 2024, Mr. Wattanawit Gajaseni, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) welcomed Ms. Amini Kanjunju, Country Director of Peace Corps Thailand, who paid a courtesy call on the occasion of new appointment of Country Director. Ms. Suthanya Sukphaisal, Executive and Communications Assistant of Peace Corps Thailand and relevant TICA officials were also present at the meeting, at TICA.

Both sides also discussed the future direction to enhance cooperation between TICA and Peace Corps Thailand, including the opportunities to learn from Peace Corps on effective and successful volunteer management process, especially the development of TICA’s Friends from Thailand (FFT) Volunteer Programme, and also discussed on further initiative development cooperation on volunteer. Moreover, Mr. Wattanawit shared positive feedback from the Thai agencies, where the Peace Corps Volunteers (PCVs) are currently working with under the programmes “Youth in Development (YinD)” and “Teacher Empowerment for Student Success (TESS)”.
