Experts from Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency visited Thailand

Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), welcomed the experts from Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) who visited Thailand during 25 – 27 March 2024 to strengthen bilateral cooperation and explore potential development cooperation between the two countries in the areas of mutual interest such as education, agriculture, capacity building of Thai workers and persons with disabilities, and animals welfare. On this occasion, Deputy Director-General of TICA chaired the meeting on development cooperation between TİKA experts and representatives from Thai agencies including Office of the Vocational Education Commission, Department of Agriculture, International Institute for Skill Development, Asia-Pacific Development Centre on Disability, and National Elephant Institute.

At the meeting, TİKA experts learned about Thailand’s policy in various sectors and discussed with Thai agencies on future collaboration in the areas of vocational education in logistics and mechatronics, research development on renewable energy crops and livestock including technology transfer to increase a production of agricultural products, promotion of professional development in barista training for Thai workers, persons with disabilities, and protection of Thai elephants welfare.

The said meeting was the first activity under the Memorandum of Understanding on Development Cooperation between TICA and TİKA signed in January 2023 which will lead to a concrete development cooperation between TICA and TİKA.
