On 27 August 2026, Ms. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), led TICA officers and staffs to participate in Project Risk Management training at the Australian Embassy in Bangkok. The training aimed to enhance skills in project risk management among TICA officers and encourage them to apply the acquired knowledge to their work.
The training was conducted by Dr. Stephen McElhinney, a risk management expert from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia, under the topic “Approach to Risk Management in Development Programme.” It covered the process of identifying risks and planning to address uncertainties in advance to ensure the completion of projects according to goals, budget, and timelines. This will also help to build confidence in Thailand's delivering official development assistance to international communities.
This training was built on the 1st Australia-Thailand Development Dialogue held in Canberra on 24 June 2026, which served as a platform for exchanging policies and best practices that Thailand can apply to its international development cooperation efforts.
