On 20 June 2025, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director- General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), together with Mr. Passakorn Chairat, Director-General of the Office of Industrial Economics, Ministry of Industry (MIND) and Dr. Jun Youngsuk, the Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Thailand Office, jointly signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thailand Triangular Cooperation for Carbon Neutrality Capacity Building in the Electrical and Electronics Industry in ASEAN. The signing ceremony was graced and witnessed by H.E. Mr. Paisan Rupanichkij, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs and H.E. Mr. Park Yongmin, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Thailand. Mr. Narat Rujirat, President of the Electrical and Electronics Institute (EEI), along with relevant officials, also attended.

Thailand Triangular Cooperation for Carbon Neutrality Capacity Building in the Electrical and Electronics Industry in ASEAN is a 5-year (2025-2029) technical cooperation project between Thailand and  the Republic of Korea which EEI is the implementing agency and aims at promoting green and sustainable refrigeration industry by encouraging Eco-Design to address environmental impact arising from production to disposal processes.  The practice is in line with Thai government’s commitment to realizing carbon neutrality within 2050 and Net-Zero within 2065.

The project will be scaled up to Thailand’s neighboring countries to share and exchange expertise in this sector. The knowledge sharing is based upon the principles of balanced economic and environmental development.
