On 8 December 2025 at 17:30, the African delegations participating in the Thailand – Africa Development Forum (TADF) attended the policy announcement of the Thailand – Africa Initiative (TAI) delivered by H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, at The Sukhothai Bangkok Hotel.

The Minister underscored Thailand’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with African countries across political, economic, and development dimensions, as well as through closer coordination and partnership in international fora.

Following the policy announcement, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Kasetsart University and the Africa Rice Center (AfricaRice) to advance collaboration in rice research and varietal development, contributing to enhanced food security across the African region. The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and Nigeria.

TADF is an integral component of the broader TAI framework, serving as a platform that will continue to drive forward concrete cooperation in development between Thailand and Africa.
