On 24 November 2023, Mrs. Charintip Yosthasan, Director of International Development Cooperation Division, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), with TICA officers attended the opening ceremony on the celebration of International Volunteer Day 2023, at the United Nations Conference Centre, Bangkok. On this occasion, Ms. Cataleya Phatoomros, Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, delivered welcoming remarks and attended the related exhibition.

Mrs. Charintip attended the plenary session on celebration of the International Volunteer Day 2023 exhibition, under the theme “Everyone Can Volunteer: Hands-on for a Better World”, including set up booth showcasing on the “Friends from Thailand- FFT” Programme that dispatches young Thai volunteer abroad to work in development field to achieve SDGs. During the exhibition, TICA officers presented the FFT programme at the pitching and interviewing session.

The International Volunteer Day (IVD) is held each year on 5 December by the United Nations. It is to celebrate and reiterate the impact of volunteerism in achieving SDGs. The IVD 2023 celebration lies in its global theme “If Everyone Did…” to envision a world where everyone actively embraces volunteerism which will play a significant role in bringing changes to the community and addressing global challenges.
