On 10 November 2020, Mrs. Sasitorn Wongweerachotkit, Deputy Director-General of TICA, co-chaired the 1st Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting under the Project on Sustainable Community Development in Morocco by the Application of the Parabola Dome Dryer Technology (PDD) via Zoom. The meeting was also attended by H.E. Mr. Darm Boontham, Ambassador of Thailand to Morocco, Mrs. Charintip Yosthasan, Director of Thai Cooperation (II) of TICA and concerned officials from both sides.

The aforementioned Project is aimed to assist in the sustainable development of the target communities in Morocco by applying Thailand’s Parabola Dome Dryer technology - invented by Professor Emeritus Dr. Serm Janjai, Faculty of Science, Silpakorn University - to add values to local crops of Moroccan farmers in target communities and develop their entrepreneurial skills - with Asst. Prof. Busarakorn Mahayothee, Faculty of Engineering & Industrial Technology, Silpakorn University, as the Project’s food technology expert. Moreover, the Project is also the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs); Goal 1 (which is on poverty reduction), Goal 7 (which is on renewable energy), and Goal 12 (which is on sustainable production and consumption).
