Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the Faculty of Environment and Resource Studies, Mahidol University, organized the Annual International Training Course (AITC) 2025 on “Natural Disasters Management,” held from 4 to 24 June 2025. The training aimed to enhance the capacities of participants in disaster preparedness, management, and awareness, particularly regarding natural disasters.
The program was conducted on-site and attended by 30 participants from governmental and non-governmental from 24 countries.
Throughout the training programme, participants acquired knowledge on key topics and best practices in natural disaster management, ranging from community-based approaches to international-level strategies. The course incorporated practical sessions, knowledge-sharing activities, site visits, and expert exchanges. These included study visits to the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA), Thai Meteorological Department (TMD), Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, and Khun Samut Chin Village, a model community for coastal erosion management, on Thailand's Chao Phraya Delta.
On 24 June 2025. Mr. Grisada Phakakarn, Director of the Human Resources Development Cooperation Division, as a representative of TICA, together with Associate Professor Dr. Thamarat Phutthai, Course Director, presided over and delivered closing remarks. Representatives from TICA and Mahidol University and also presented certificates to the distinguished participants who successfully completed the on-site training.
