On May 15, 2024, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), handed over sewing machines and various equipment to the Vientiane Skills Development Center in Lao PDR. This event was part of the Project on Capacity Building and Skills Development for Labours in Lao PDR, aiming at enhancing the capacity of labor skill development institutions in neighboring countries to acquire relevant skills in fields that align with border needs, ultimately leading to increased income opportunities. Along with Mr. Doi Namvilai Director of the Vientiane Capital Skill Development Center, Lao PDR and representatives of the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane and relevant Thai and Lao officials also participated in the ceremony. After that, the participants visited sewing machines and various equipment supported by Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA).

Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) offered assistance with the delivery, installation, and training on the use of the machines and equipment to the staff of the Skill Development Center in Vientiane Capital from November 21 to 24, 2023, by supplying sewing machines and necessary equipment to the Vientiane Capital Skill Development Center. The equipment included a total of 8 items, consisting of 12 industrial sewing machines, 12 computer machines, 2 fabric banding machines, and 2 button nest machines. Additionally, 2 strip machines, 2 male mannequins, 6 female mannequins, and 2 sets of irons and ironing boards were provided.

At the dedication ceremony, representatives from Thailand International Cooperation Agency recommended that the staff of Vientiane Capital Skill Development Center fully utilize the supported sewing machines and equipment provided, as well as submit usage reports to TICA. If any issues arise with their usage, the staff are encouraged to promptly notify the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane. This will allow Siam Factory Company Limited to offer guidance and assistance in resolving any problems.

Additionally, representatives from TICA recommended that the Director of the Vientiane Skills Development Center explore potential areas for future development, such as human resource development as a key focus for TICA. This could involve enhancing teaching and learning curriculum to align with market demands, as well as increasing the value of products in order to bolster the Vientiane Capital Skill Development Center and expand skills knowledge to the Lao people.
