On 9 – 10 December 2025, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand organized a study visit on Thailand’s rice and agricultural innovations for a delegation of agricultural representatives from African region, under the Thailand–Africa Development Forum (TADF). The delegation was led by Lt. Sorawud Preededilok, Minister attached to TICA.

The delegation visited private-sector operations specializing in high-quality rice seed production at Na Hia Chai – Life and Spiritual Learning Center, public-sector facilities at the Suphan Buri Rice Seed Center as well as a study visit on rice research and development at the National Rice Science Institute.

In addition, the delegation attended the 28th Kamphaeng Saen Agricultural Fair 2025 where they observed the Thai Tractor and Agricultural Machinery Expo 2025 (ThaiTAM 2025), along with exhibitions on rice, fisheries, research and innovation, academic services, crop research, and Thailand’s agricultural technologies. These activities highlighted the capacity and advancement of Thailand’s agricultural sector.

The afore-mentioned study visits contributed to the exchange of knowledge, experience, and best practices in agricultural development, and is expected to strengthen sustainable development cooperation between Thailand and African countries in the future.
