On 7 November 2023, the Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, met with the representatives from the Ministry of Public Health and discussed on the preperation of trilateral cooperation project between Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), the Ministry of Public Health and the World Health Organization (WHO) titled TICA-MOPH-WHO Triangular and South-South Cooperation on Global Health Diplomacy Training, which will be held between 14 and 15 December 2023 in Bangkok. The Training aims to enhance capacity of public health officials from WHO’s SEAR member states including Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Indonesia, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Timor-Leste on global health diplomacy as well as strengthen skills required in international negotiation.

The event is one of the three South-South and Triangular Cooperation flagship projects that TICA and the United Nations Country Team launched on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Forum for Sustainable Development in March 2023. The joint effort reaffirms TICA’s vision and mission to strengthen human security in various aspects including health.
