On 12 October 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, the Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) met with Ms. Julia Benn, Head of the Total Official Support for Sustainable Development (TOSSD) of OECD during the 7th International Meeting on Triangular Co-operation in Lisbon, Portugal.

The OECD side informed Director-General of the Total Official Support for Sustainable Development (TOSSD) of OECD and invited Thailand to join the TOSSD in the ODA data collection and analysis. In addition, Ms. Benn informed that starting next year, the TOSSD’s governance structure will evolve from a task force into the International Forum on TOSSD and invited Thailand to join the Forum as well.

The Director-General shared that Thailand was now in the process of improving the database of Thailand’s ODA to be in accordance with the international standard and thus supported in principle the participation of Thailand in the TOSSD noting its advantages and that Thailand had already submitted voluntarily the annual report on ODA to the OECD.

In the upcoming workshop on development co-operation: strategic planning and programming, co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and the OECD to be held on 30-31 October 2023 in Bangkok, the topic of TOSSD would also be included in the agenda of the workshop. The Director-General urged the OCED to use this opportunity to share information on TOSSD to the Thai agencies concerned who will participate in the workshop so they have better understanding of the TOSSD and will be able to use ODA data collection system effectively.
