The Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency welcomed the Country Director of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) in Thailand, for a farewell call upon the completion of his term of duty

On 13 August 2026, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) met with Mr. Jean-Pierre Marceli, Country Director of the Agence Française de Développement (AFD) in Thailand, upon the completion of his term of duty. Also attendance were Mrs. Arunee Heim, Deputy Director-General of TICA, Ms. Chidchanok Malayawong, Director of Development Promotion and Coordination Division, and other relevant officers, at the reception room of TICA.
The Director-General expressed appreciation to the AFD Country Director for the promotion of Thai-French relations and technical cooperation throughout his tenure, especially for the preparation and signing of the new 5-year Work Plan (2026-2030) between TICA and AFD, as well as his support on Thailand's trilateral cooperation in Africa.
On this occasion, the AFD Country Director expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to serve in Thailand and commended Thailand's role as an excellent development partner of AFD in Southeast Asia and other regions. He also hope that after the new Country Director takes office, both sides will be able to discuss, review, and outline future implementation under the new 5-year Work Plan (2026-2030).
The two sides also discussed about the Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group in Bangkok in October 2026, which the CEO of AFD will attend, and AFD’s support in organising the 6th Finance in Common Summit in Thailand in 2027, as well as the possibility of trilateral cooperation with the Pacific Island countries, as Mr. Jean-Pierre will assume the new position as AFD Regional Director for the Pacific in New Coledonia.
