On 16 August 2022, Mr. Cheevindh Nathalang, Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and representatives from co-hosts of GSSD Expo 2022, Ms. Xiaojun Grace Wang, Deputy Director for Programme and Operations, United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation (UNOSSC) and Mr. Adnan H. Aliani, Director, Strategy and Program Management Division of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and Pacific (ESCAP), co-chaired the directors' meeting on the GSSD Expo 2022 preparations.

The co-hosts reiterated the significance of the GSSD Expo 2022, which will be held during 12 – 14 September 2022 in Bangkok, Thailand, for the first ever GSSD Expo in the Asia-Pacific region, and affirmed their commitment to make this year’s global event a success. They discussed the progress of the logistical and substantive preparations such as tentative programmes, Leadership Roundtables, Thematic Solution Forums, Asia-Pacific Directors-General Forum and Global Directors-General Forum.
