On 18 June 2025, Mr. Grisada Phakakarn, Director of Human Resources Development Cooperation Division of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), and Ms. SATO Hiromi, Volunteer Coordinator of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Thailand Office, jointly presided over the Handover Ceremony of nine (9) Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCVs) held at TICA, Government Complex.

At the ceremony, the JOCVs were handed over to (1) Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation; (2) Ministry of Social Development and Human Security; (3) Ministry of Tourism and Sports; (4) Office of the Basic Education Commission; (5) Office of the Vocational Education Commission; and (6) Department of Community Development, Ministry of Interior.

The JOCVs in the ceremony will work for 2 years, in these 8 fields which will expand knowledge and skill for Thai officer and youth, and also promote people-to-people connectivity:

(1) Japanese Language Education, at Lampang Kanlayanee School;
(2) Youth Activities, at Fuang-Fah Home for Protection and Development for Persons with Disabilities;
(3) Community Development, at Bureau of Local Wisdom and Community Enterprise Promotion and Buang Bun Community Development District Office;
(4) Judo, at Judo Association of Thailand;
(5) Environmental Education, at Lampang Science for Education Centre;
(6) Computer Technology, at Princess Chulabhorn’s Science High School Lopburi;
(7) Marketing, at Rajahmonkol University of Technology Suvarnabhumi;
(8) Machine Tools, at Nong Khai Technical College.
