On September 2, 2024, Mr. Wattanawit Gajaseni, Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), delivered opening remarks via a pre-recorded video for the training course on Thailand-Kenya Sustainable Agro-technologies Development, together with Associate Professor Dr. Darunee Jothityangkoon, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University.
This training programme is one of the activities under the Thailand-Kenya Sustainable Agro-technologies Development Project, which has been organized under the cooperation between TICA, the Royal Thai Embassy in Nairobi, the Faculty of Agriculture, Khon Kaen University, and the Kenya School of Agriculture from 2 - 9 September 2024 at Khon Kaen University.
There are eight participants who are instructors at KSA attending the training programme, including three Senior Principle Lecturer, four Principle Lecturer and one Technical Instructor. It is also the last activity under this project which aims to enhance the capacity and knowledge of KSA’s officers and instructors by providing the necessary agricultural knowledge, laboratory skills, and techniques to ensure that all participants can impart this essential knowledge to the next generation of Kenyans and share agricultural experiences with Thai experts through this custom-made programme. In addition, this training programme is designed to support the implementation project by KSA after the project is finished. Beyond the technical aspects, the projects will be part of the elements that support Kenya in addressing the food security problem.
