On 6 August 2023, Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) gave an opening remarks through pre-recorded video for “the OVOP Project’s Training of Trainers Course on Product Development in 6 Targeted Products” together with Mr. Sorasat Sripheng, Vice Governor of Surin Province, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kosit Sriphuthorn, President of Rajamangala University of Technology Isan, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Samnao Saowakoon, Vice President for Surin Campus.
The objective of this training course aims to develop and strengthen Cambodian participants ‘capacity on OVOP’s necessary skills on products development such as marketing and promoting skills, product packing design, and product management. This workshop has targeted 6 product groups, which have great potential, namely (1) Food and Beverage; (2) Souvenir; (3) Textile; (4) Natural Oil; (5) Furniture, and (6) Community Based Tourism (CBT) and this training course is an activity under the development cooperation project entitled “The Establishmentof the One Village One Product (OVOP) Regional Promoting Centre in Kampong Cham Province”, implemented under the 3-year Development Cooperation Program between Thailand and Cambodia.
The workshop has 19 participants from Cambodia and has been organized underthe cooperation between TICA and Rajamangala University of Technology Isan (RMUTI), Surin Campus, held between 5 – 18 August 2023 at RMUTI, Surin Campus, Thailand. This is an opportunity for Cambodian participants to receive necessary knowledge, skills, and techniques, including social media marketing which is very important to bring OVOP products and services to the markets in this digital era. This workshop is conducted through the lecture by the professionals, study visit and practice. Moreover, it enhances Thailand – Cambodia relations, especially on people – people relations and also advance Thailand’s steadfast partnership with Cambodia and commitment to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notablySDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, and SDG 17: Partnerships For the Goals.
