On 30 July 2025, Lt. Sorawud Preededilok, Minister attached to Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) attended and delivered opening remarks at TICA Alumni Gathering in Abuja together with Mr. Teerapat Mongkolnavin, Ambassador-Designate of Thailand to Nigeria. The occasion was also honored by the presence of Ms. Sasirit Tangulrat. Director-General, Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Nigeria. The event took place at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja, Federal Republic of Nigeria.

TICA Alumni Gathering in Abuja aimed to strengthen the alumni network, foster enduring people-to-people connectivity, and provide a platform for TICA awardees to share and exchange experiences. The event also served as a valuable forum for networking, enhancing TICA’s human resource development programmes, and collecting data and feedback for future collaboration and initiatives that will be responsive to Nigeria’s needs and development context.

During the event, alumni representatives expressed their appreciation for Thailand’s support in providing scholarships and training in various fields, noting that the knowledge gained has been applied at multiple levels. The alumni also conveyed their interest in strengthening collaborative networks with the Royal Thai Embassy in Abuja and in promoting Thailand’s Development Cooperation Programme in Nigeria.
