On 9 June 2025 Privy Councilor General Kampanat Ruddit, Chairman of the Royal Project Foundation Executive Board presided over the opening ceremony online of the international training workshop on the Sustainable Highland Arabica Coffee Industry Development. On this occasion, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General, Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) also delivered welcome address online.


This training workshop is organized by the Royal Project Foundation, in collaboration, with the Highland Research and Development Institute (HRDI) and TICA during 9 – 13 June 2025 at Chanaka Dhibesra Damri, the Royal Project Agricultural Research and Development Center, Chiang Mai province. The objectives of the training workshop are sharing knowledge and experiences on promoting arabica coffee as a cash crop, and providing participants with knowledge on coffee plantation under the conservation system, emphasizing income generation, highland natural resources, environmental conservation and sustainability. A total of 25 participants from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Timor-Leste, Bhutan, Nepal and Tanzania attended the training workshop.


During the afore-mentioned training workshop, the Royal Project held the Royal Coffee BCG to SDGs event from 11 – 15 June 2025 at Royal Park Rajapruek, Chiang Mai province in honor of His Majesty King Rama X and commemorate King Rama IX's Legacy on laying the foundation of highland arabica coffee that sustainably helps income generating and environmental conservation. In addition, the event was created by taking into account BCG economy model, aiming at boosting export of Thai coffee to global market. The activities in the event comprised of academic seminar, exhibition on coffee innovation, barista competition, etc. This event provided opportunities for farmers, entrepreneurs and more than 65 network partners from Thailand and foreign countries to exchange knowledge and learn from each other. The participants had a chance to attend the event in order to learn about the development of Thai coffee and apply acquired knowledge to their own context.
