On May 8, 2025, Mrs. Uraiwan Courtot, Minister-Counsellor, and Ms. Monrada Yamkasikorn, First Secretary, from the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), held discussions with Dr. Sumawadee Puangchan, Director of Bangsaen Technical College in Chonburi. The meeting aimed to exchange views on the implementation of a vocational training project for officials from Transit and Reception Centre for Victims of Trafficking and Other Vulnerable Groups in Banteay Meanchey Province (TRC) in Banteay Meanchey Province, Cambodia. Also present at the meeting were Mr. Kriangsak Boonkwang, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, Mr. Thawatchai Lamom, Assistant Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, Mrs. Krawan Rakboonthin, instructor from the Department of Fashion and Textiles, along with members of the management team and faculty from Bangsaen Technical College.

The vocational sewing training program is part of the initiative to enhance the capacity of personnel at the Transit and Reception Centre for Victims of Trafficking and Other Vulnerable Groups in Banteay Meanchey Province (TRC). There were five Cambodian participants. The training aimed to strengthen their vocational sewing skills and for these trained personnel to apply their knowledge by transferring skills to victims of human trafficking and members of surrounding communities. This approach contributes to building community resilience against various forms of human trafficking, while also equipping victims with practical vocational skills that support their reintegration into society.

Moving forward, the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) will collaborate with Bangsaen Technical College to conduct two additional vocational training programs for personnel at the Transit and Reception Centre for Victims of Trafficking and Other Vulnerable Groups in Banteay Meanchey Province (TRC). These upcoming programs will cover the fields of electrical work and air conditioning repair which are scheduled to take place in August and September of this year.

The Transit and Reception Centre for Victims of Trafficking and Other Vulnerable Groups in Banteay Meanchey Province (TRC), is a part of development cooperation project jointly implemented by the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) and the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security (MSDHS). The project includes the construction of the center and the establishment of its management systems. This initiative stems from the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the establishment of the center, signed during the 10th Meeting of the Thailand-Cambodia Joint Commission on August 26, 2016.
