On October 8, 2026, H.E. Mr. Arthayudh Srisamoot, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, received a courtesy call from Mr. Yuho Hayakawa, Senior Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Mr. Hayakawa was visiting Thailand to attend the 2nd Round Table Meeting between Emerging Development Partners from ASEAN and Japan (EDPAJ), hosted by Thailand from October 8–9, 2026.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on JICA’s development cooperation policies and initiatives with Thailand, focusing on expanding triangular cooperation and future strategic partnerships. Both sides also highlighted Thailand’s key role as a regional development partner providing technical assistance to other countries in the ASEAN region and beyond.

The Advisor expressed gratitude for Japan’s continued longstanding support, particularly regarding Thailand’s OECD accession process and the 3 GeV Synchrotron Project in the Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation (EECi), Rayong Province.
