On February 8, 2023, Dr. Supachai Keowsiri, Chairman of the Thai Small and Medium Enterprises Council, will pay a courtesy call on Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency, to discuss possibilities for a collaboration between the Thai SMEs Council and TICA in promoting economic cooperation with neighboring countries, especially Cambodia and other countries in Africa.
On this occasion, Dr. Supachai gave an overview of the mission of the Thai SMEs Council, which aims to promote small and medium-sized private sector entrepreneurs in Thailand in terms of marketing, innovation, and funding sources. The past successful activities included economic development, border trade between Thailand and Cambodia. (Surin Model 1 and 2) and business matching of Thai entrepreneurs in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.
In this regard, the Thai SMEs Council wished to expand cooperation with neighboring countries through cooperation with TICA. The Director-General of TICA gave a brief overview of TICA’s main mission and its development cooperation projects in various sectors such as agriculture, skill development, etc. and expressed her appreciation for the Thai SMEs Council’s initiative to promote economic development cooperation along the Thai-Cambodian border, which is in line with the Public-Private Partnership for People (PPPP) approach of TICA.
