On 24 September 2026, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), attended the official handover ceremony of medical equipment and other essential supplies to four organizations affected by the floods in November 2025 i.e. Songkhla Provincial Administrative Office, Hatyai Hospital, Songkhla Hospital and Sikarin Hat Yai Hospital at Hatyai Hospital, Songkhla Province. The aforementioned ceremony was attended by Mr. Kim Num Hyuk, Minister of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea to Thailand; Ms. Jiheh Chun, Country Director of the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Thailand Office; Mr. Jirawat Maneeshots, Vice Governor of Songkhla Province; Mr. Apichai Kueakorboon, Chief Administrator of the Songkhla Provincial Administrative Organization; Dr. Wiroj Yommuang, Director of Hat Yai Hospital; Dr. Peeranan Kaewsuksai, Deputy Director of Songkhla Hospital; Lt. Gen. Suriya Smithi, Chairman of Sikarin Hospital; and Dr. Somchai Thangpaisan, Director of Sikarin Hat Yai Hospital, and officials from relevant agencies.

The handover of the medical equipment was carried out under the “Emergency Restoration Support for the Public Health System in Flood-affected Songkhla Province Project,” supported by the Government of the Republic of Korea and provided to the Royal Thai Government, with a total value of USD 500,000 (approximately THB 15.46 million). The project aims to support the recovery and strengthen the capacity of the public health system to provide services to people in Songkhla Province.

The Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA) has played a key role in supporting the implementation of the project through development cooperation, particularly in facilitating the procurement of medical equipment based on the needs of Songkhla Province. This support has contributed to the effective implementation of the project in line with its objectives and to strengthening public health services for local communities.
