On 8 June 2023, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), had a meeting with Ms. Youngsuk Jun, Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Thailand Office, as a series of discussion from 1 June 2023, to finalize the direction for making a concept paper for Co-forming Projects and Fellowship Program, which will be included in the 5th Three-year Action Plan on Partnership Cooperation between KOICA and TICA 2026 – 2028.
     Both sides agreed to co-form the bilateral technical cooperation projects and fellow programme together in Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI),Information Communication Technology (ICT), Digital governance,Environment and Climate change adaptation,and Clean energy, believing that these sectors of cooperation would support Thailand’s effort to overcome the middle-income trap as well as contribute to the achievement for sustainable development of the Mekong Sub-region.
     Furthermore, the meeting discussed on new possible modalities of cooperation, including medical co-laboratory, as well as the joint construction of the labour skill development centre, aiming to promote Thailand as a medical research and skill development hubs of ASEAN region.
