On 1 June 2023, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), had a meeting with Ms. Youngsuk Jun, Country Director of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), Thailand Office, to discuss a new technical cooperation initiative, namely “Co-forming Projects” and “Fellowship Programme”, to be implemented in 2025 onwards. Also presented at the meeting were Ms. Chidchanok Malayawong, Director of Development Promotion and Coordination Division, and staff from both TICA and KOICA.

The meeting discussed the way to co-form the bilateral technical cooperation projects together in areas that both sides have mutual interests and are necessary for the development of Mekong Sub-region, as well as bilateral Fellowship Programme for Thai agencies concerned in Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI), environment and climate change adaptation, and clean energy. Furthermore, the meeting also discussed on future direction for dispatching of Korean volunteers to Thailand, under KOICA’s “Korea Overseas Volunteers (KOV)” Programme.

After the meeting, Deputy Director-General of TICA and Country Director of KOICA, Thailand Office, signed the Minutes of Meeting for the earlier meeting to conclude the 4th Three-year Action Plan on Partnership Cooperation between KOICA and TICA in the year 2023 – 2025 held on 19 May 2023, at TICA.
