On 10 March 2026, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), met with Ms. Ebba Scholl, Deputy Head of Mission of the German Embassy in Bangkok, and Mr. Timo Menniken, Country Director of Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH Thailand, along with officials from German Embassy and GIZ Thailand. Also in attendance were Ms. Chidchanok Malayawong, Director of Development Promotion and Coordination Division, and relevant officers, at Meeting Room 2, TICA Office.

Both sides expressed their appreciation for the longstanding and cordial bilateral relations between Thailand and Germany, which have continued to flourish through development cooperation projects and the work of German experts in Thailand under the Agreement on Technical Cooperation between Thailand and Germany signed in 1970. On this occasion, both sides also discussed the preparation of relevant documents to facilitate the establishment of a GIZ Office in Thailand, in order to better align with the evolving roles of GIZ and TICA in implementing development cooperation.
