On 19 July 2024, Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), met with Mr. TAIRA Yasushi, Deputy Director-General of Southeast Asia and Pacific Department, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at the Reception Room, TICA.

On this occasion, both sides discussed about JICA’s initiative to organize ASEAN-Japan Bilateral Aid Meeting which will serve as a platform for sharing experiences and exploring the possibility for development cooperation among ASEAN member countries which are now becoming the emerging development partners.  The meeting is scheduled to be held during 30 September – 1 October 2024 at JICA Headquarters, Tokyo, Japan.  Besides, both sides agreed that Official Development Assistance (ODA) and South-South Cooperation are instrumental in advancing the UN’s 2030 agenda, the Sustainable Development Goals.
