On 10 February 2026, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), welcomed Police Major General Punvipa Rohitopakara, Executive Director of the International Law Enforcement Academy, Bangkok (ILEA-Bangkok), and Mr. Robert Sommerville, Acting Program Director, and delegation, on the occasion of a courtesy visit and New Year greetings. Also in attendance were Mrs. Arunee Heim, Deputy Director-General of TICA, Ms. Chidchanok Malayawong, Director of Development Promotion and Coordination Division, and relevant officers, at Meeting Room 2, TICA Office.
The ILEA representatives thanked TICA for facilitating the disbursement and auditing of the budget for activities under the work plan. On this occasion, both sides discussed past international training courses, with the U.S. government continuing its support for ILEA in conducting 2026 training courses in Thailand.
The establishment of ILEA-Bangkok aims to strengthen the criminal justice institutions in the Asia-Pacific region, focusing on law enforcement and enhancing the security as well as promoting of partnerships and cooperation among law enforcers in the region. This includes conducting training courses on narcotics prevention and control, transnational terrorism, financial crime, and other related areas.
