On 18 June 2026, Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), welcomed and discussed with Mr. Bounthanongsack Chanthalath, Director-General of the Department of Asia-Pacific and Africa, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR). Also present at the meeting were Mrs. Arunee Hiam, Deputy Director-General of TICA, Ms. Chidchanok Malyawong, Director of Development Promotion and Coordination Division, and relevant officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao PDR, the Embassy of the Lao PDR in Thailand, and TICA.

Both sides discussed the implementation of the Thai-Lao development cooperation and the progress of the consideration of the 3^rd Three-Year Thailand-Lao PDR Development Cooperation Programme (2026 – 2029).  The discussion aimed at jointly driving the 3^rd Three-Year Programme forward to achieve concrete implementation, and then reporting its progress  to the upcoming 23rd Meeting of the Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation (JC) between Thailand and the Lao PDR, which will be hosted by the Lao side tentatively in October 2026 in Luang Prabang, and will be co-chaired by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of both countries.
